But Gemini Feed – a second to come from the Californian’s forthcoming sophomore full-length, The Altar – goes several better, proving infinitely more delectable than desiccating sacramental wafers ever do as it does so: lyrics concerning lazy eyes and “lonely” thighs writhe smokily atop unabating, bassy bloops and abrasive, trebly beats, before a killer chorus (which hears Jillian not so “passive-aggressive[ly]” vent, “And to think you would get me to the altar/ Like I follow you around like a dog that needs water”) kicks in. And the stage is seemingly now set for BANKS to really, truly kick on…
