Boy Scouts, Nike.

To say that Boy Scouts’ Nike is the second best song to have been written about said multinational (after Frank’s stream-of-consciousness stunner, needless to say) is one thing; that it’s such a close-run thing, though, is to Taylor Vick’s total credit. For whereas Queen – the first to come from the Californian’s forthcoming Hobby Limit release – set the ball rolling along a lugubrious, if propitious trajectory, there is rather more spring to this one’s step, skipping hi-hats nattering away with a tumbleweedy acoustic guitar, before the unexpectedly eruptive, all-consuming chorus kicks in, kicking interest in Boy Scouts up a good few notches in the process.

Hobby Limit is available from this Friday, 22nd September via Processional Cross.
