In spite of its title, I passionately implore: please don’t allow any enmity you may justifiably feel toward George Lewis Jr. to cloud judgement, or preclude enjoyment, of Canine’s nuanced, decidedly idiosyncratic Twin Shadow. Because, coalescing the theatricality of Camille, Charlotte Gainsbourg’s musical ouverture d’esprit, and the unapologetically avant-poppy penchants of Nice’s Hyphen Hyphen, it’s a true joy to behold, whomever may be behind it.
