Friday, 7^th December may be a rather unremarkable day in the grander scheme of 2018, although the first to emerge from Charlotte Gainsbourg’s upcoming Take 2 EP – entitled Such a Remarkable Day – has certainly lent a certain, shimmering je ne sais quoi to it. Reminiscent of much of last year’s scintillating Rest full-length, SebastiAn’s back at the harpsichord, as Gainsbourg’s beguilingly gossamer vocal floats atop both this and the pulsating synth-pop synergy in which the pair now so patently share. There are another two all-new takes – namely Bombs Away and Lost Lenore – to come, but we can only hope their paths continue to converge thereafter…
