First Transmission: Clocktower, Noosa.

Having trended in self-proclaimed fairy-pop for some while already, rightly amassing many admirers in the process, NYC songstress Noosa is set to release her long-awaited début full-length, Wonderland, next week. And, a sonic exploration of her enduring pining to “run away to the left coast/ Have an endless summer running through me”, there is no shortage of irony in songs like Clocktower, from which said quote comes, ultraviolently recalling one Lana Del Rey – another New Yorker, whose most recent single was titled… West Coast. There is, it goes without saying, rather more sincerity to this sprawling piece of melancholy grandiosity, although the track’s immaculate production, twinned with heavy exhalations of “fight[ing] for love”, ensures the parallel is pretty well impossible to ignore. Which, if you happen to be a fellow aficionado of melodrama, can be no bad thing…
