I guess the objective of this interminable game aka blogging is to check every possible Soundcloud artery, Bandcamp vein, and still beating social media heart for new pulses to set tickers racing as often as possible. It’s all about timing – both expedition and expeditiousness. And yet here we find ourselves extolling the virtues of a recording first heard by many (the below play count has already ticked on over to 18,000-odd at time of writing) some twelve months ago. Deplorably, we’ve only today turned onto it: DAEMON is the standout from off-kilt techno pairing Kenton Slash Demon, who just so happen to also make up precisely 50% of Danish electro-pop wunderkinds When Saints Go Machine. Hence it’s deplorable we’d not previously tuned in, though this becomes ever more apparent upon exposure: the so-called ‘parallel project’ here relies upon the reptilian vocal slither of Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild to writhe with disconcerting vim atop a clobbering electro plod that would surely have scaled the heady apices of our Tracks of 2011 feature had we only then heard it. Must try harder; keep ear closer to the internet, etc.
