Above is a muddied amalgam of the artwork to each of our freshly completed Tracks of 2012 rundown, dubiously fangled on a newly acquired and equally dodgy copy of Photoshop, and below is our ongoing attempt to grapple with the finer intricacies of musical technologies. It’s the first, and could well be the last Spotify playlist I ever so painstakingly compile, and it features our every entry (or rather the 28 that, at the time of writing, were hooked up to their mainframe, or whatever the correct technical term would be for that). That our topspot is in fact omitted arguably detracts somewhat from the value of an exercise that has been, quite genuinely, a steep learning curve for the luddite that is I though I hope that in condensing the thing down into what is, to all extensive purposes, the click of one solitary button, it essentially becomes all the more digestible. Gorge away!
