Vibrant Blur, Colourmusic.

Transatlantic accomplices Nick Turner and Ryan Hendrix, who combine with Colin Fleishacker and Nicholas Ley to become Colourmusic, may spell their moniker in such a way so as to suggest they more closely associate themselves with the former’s Yorkshire roots. Nonetheless Dreamgirl ’82, a second to be spat out of upcoming full-length effort May You Marry Rich in the wake of the rampant Horse Race, sounds more like a runaway juggernaut bashing about the brains of Liars as though the similarly multinational ensemble’s bonces were volatile bolides. In short, it sounds neither British nor American; neither here nor there, with slurred lyrics drowning ominously in overwhelming aural blurs. And, an outwardly alien listen, it’s made all the more transporting for all that.

May You Marry Rich is anticipated March 24th on Memphis Industries.
