First Transmission: Flasher, Skim Milk.

For a track entitled Skim Milk, this latest secretion from Washington, DC trio Flasher is full of lean, mean intent. Wholly fascinating rather than fat therefore, theirs is – on the basis of this one – a somewhat emaciated sound, Emma Baker’s M134 drums and Daniel Saperstein’s tearaway bass underpinning guitar lines sung from Shame’s Songs of Praise to create a tetchy excellence tempered with scrambled outbursts of synth. Think Omni, Parquet Courts & Co., and then think about pouring yourself a proteinous, stonking great pint of this stuff posthaste…

Skim Milk is available now via Domino Record Co.
