Frida Sundemo, Gold.

Gold – the scintillating latest to surface from Swedish chanteuse Frida Sundemo’s forthcoming international début album, Flashbacks & Futures – may yet transpire to prove to be the single that sees her glacial synth-pop cross over into a considerably more mainstream consciousness (something to which she’s not altogether alien, having starred in the silver-screened adaptation of John Niven’s Kill Your Friends in 2015) at long last, broadening horizons as it does so. For all sprawling, eddying synths, heart-rending strings, steadying drums and latently triumphant vocals, it may sound decidedly cinematic in terms of its scope, but it remains intimate to its heartwarming core. Meaning Sundemo’s future is, increasingly, looking ineffably bright indeed…

Flashbacks & Futures is available from October 6th via Cosmos Music.
