NYC three-piece Grooms release their protean latest, entitled Exit Index, today; and to commemorate that fact, it’s a pleasure, a privilege, and so on and so forth to be able to share from it track five of ten, End. Dedicated to late Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete, akin to the colours that float atop otherwise Stygian oil or the blackened streaks that sometimes besmirch coloured vinyl, there are certain kaleidoscopic complexions to this dark, complex gurgle of a tune which make it a fitting, if faintly troubling, kind of tribute. And, evocative of Turn On the Bright Lights at times, Fekete’s is – owing to End – one that now can never go out…
