Grooving Back Around, Outlaw Boogie.

If it feels just like yesterday that we were here prattling on about lo-fi London guru Outlaw Boogie, then that’s because it in fact was. Love + Pain erred on the side of infatuation right from the off yesterday afternoon and though still faceless, there’s now a name to put to the project. David Garver’s to blame, in case you’re interested and if you’re still with us, Play Misty For Me again sounds as though it’s been put together with the aid of little other than an iPad to thus convincingly vindicate the afore used lo-fi tag. Gerver’s vocal slack, it sits rickety atop a bass line clipped from the crest of a Wave Of Mutilation which serves as the pulsating undercurrent to a dry guitar line evocative of Under Pressure and although Apple were still only trading on the peripheries of the technology market back then, there’s an unmistakably ’90s aesthetic at the decidedly human heart of this one. Well worth the playing. Again…
