While London’s Hider may be somewhat reticent when it comes to press shots and such like – in keeping with the moniker, of course – his latest, entitled Listen, is as forthcoming an introduction as you could hope to hear. With so many disparate bits present (and perhaps surprisingly, correct), it makes for an unlikely musical potpourri remotely evocative of early Beck, comprising moments reminiscent of French outfits Phoenix (à la Love Like a Sunset Part I) and Air (more broadly speaking), Europoppy acoustic guitar parts and Morricone-cultured, whistled segments, but it’s a sensual pleasure all the same. “Listen to the sound” below…
