First Transmission: Junior Mesa, All or Nothin’.

While Whitney’s Forever Turned Around delighted at more or less every turn, it may be that bit too sober – ironically for a band so intoxicated with all kinds of intoxicants – on the whole. A valid alternative, then, is Junior Mesa’s jaunty All or Nothin’, as the Bakersfield, Californian paints from much the same palette as his Chicagoan counterparts. Considerably less polished, yet strangely reminiscent of Aerosmith for all of one line, seemingly extempore guitars collaborate with breezy seaside organ vibes beneath a convincing vocal befitting its title.
