Shaping Out, Arthur Beatrice.

Shaping Out, Arthur Beatrice.

Another day, and another pretty divine piece to the intricate puzzle that is London four-piece Arthur Beatrice’s début full-length, Working Out, has drizzled down from the band’s SoundCloud. Preceding its release next week, it’s this time the second of its eleven tracks, and the superlative Late: led by Ella Girardot, it’s a smouldering slow burner that softly flickers, prior to bursting into a fiery climax. “I am the stone that you are shaping out, carving up bone to form a face so proud” she may sing seconds in, although ultimately, as Arthur Beatrice piece together a more complete picture, Working Out increasingly feels an album contemporary British culture can itself feel beyond proud of.

Working Out is released February 24th via Open Assembly Recordings / Polydor.
