On the Horizon: Tunes for Thought, Spitz Lang.

Inscrutable US producer¬†Spitz Lang cites every one of Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland as points of origin, and if confounding, it seems fitting in a sense. For Lang has yet to chisel out a definitive niche of his own, his SoundCloud profile as yet more or less a prolix case of incongruity. Even within the context of 7-track extended-play¬†Sentimentality, at times incompatible variety is his chosen spice. However, in its finale, Later, Lang sounds to be carving out something quite idiosyncratic all of his own accord. Taking a vanguardist lathe to the amorphous form that is progressive instrumental hip hop, Later may be endearingly raw around the edges, but there’s a decidedly human, even humanistic timbre to it. Thus although Lang may not yet be set for Brainfeeder affiliation, we can but hope for further tunes for thought from him…
