First Transmission: Launder, Fade.

If Fade – the first to emerge from a forthcoming five-track release entitled Pink Cloud – sounds not too dissimilar to DIIV by way of Day Wave, then it’s because it features Zachary Cole Smith on typically coruscating guitar, and was produced by one Jackson Phillips. Credible indie credentials aside mind, Los Angeles’ Launder really does sound like a real keeper on the basis of this one alone, its suitably nephic qualities lined with distant synths which, argent as they are austere, complete this completely intoxicating piece, their perfect equipoise offsetting the Californian’s wistful lyrical content with true aplomb.
