Launder, Keep You Close (feat. SoKo).

If Los Angeleno Launder’s début cut, Fade, came to represent a true sleeper hit, then Keep You Close may yet transpire to prove that which inspires a widespread awakening to his apparent lo-fi proficiencies. For featuring gauzy shoegaze guitar parts courtesy of Zachary Cole Smith and the insouciant, soothing vox of SoKo, it proves very much redolent of Slowdive’s astral work Souvlaki, albeit with a pacier bpm and altogether more direct production (with Jackson Phillips, aka Day Wave, on duty once again). And, blurred and bleary-eyed though it may be, there really aren’t “too many words” worthy of directly translating such understated beauty as this…
