While it may well have been built upon crepuscular pulses which both recall Fever Ray’s sublime début album and befit its title, New Chance’s Chasing the Sunset has a dewy, auroral lustre to it to belie the latter. But no matter, because as it blossoms into a subtly absorbing alt. pop masterpiece, it takes you away somewhere where time is of little, to no importance; hence my having played it umpteen times already this afternoon. And, combining emotive, very much expressive keys with a most impressive vocal performance, I’d readily wager your first play won’t be your last, either…
