On the Horizon: Fizzy Pop à la montréalais, Superbloom.

Currently harbouring a vivid adoration of all things montréalais and, if that took a gentle rock of a knock when my POP Montréal delegate application just got rejected, then it’s been further buoyed by this from some inscrutable Canuck troop called Superbloom. Relatively little seems to be known of ‘em, other than that they’re patent adherents to the saccharine intoxication of unorthodox sodas and so forth, and it thus seems apposite that their début cut, the itself inebriating Two-tone Underground, should be a quite invigoratingly effervescent hunk of lo-fi splendour in its own right: raging bass, rudimentary snare, hallucinogenic vocal smears that are as though slowly fizzling vapour trails wafting atop the grizzly garage rumpus below, and an overarching hypnagogic effect cleanly earmark the scuzzy unknowns beyond the moniker as ones to listen out for.
