On the Horizon: Spiritual Vacationing, Opaline.

On the Horizon: Spiritual Vacationing, Opaline.

If I’m to be entirely honest, before this morning I’d never indulged in anything under the banner of Vacation. It’s a newfangled genre I’d never even so much as happened upon until a few incidentally sweet moments ago, though it’s one to which I’ll undoubtedly always return henceforth. Coined by Portland resident Hunter Thompson (denote critical omission of the ‘S.’) who creates fantastical whirls of flighty musical reverie under the guise of Opaline (or OPΛLINE to employ its official stylisation), Vacation Spiritual is equal parts Koji Kondo’s Ocarina of Time official soundtrack and Kuedo’s exalted Severant record of 2011, with a smidgen of Fol Chen eccentricity sprinkled in for added invigoration. And it’s another tick in the box imploring I go vacation in Oregon sooner, as opposed to later…
