On the Horizon: Squalls of the Squalid, Jackson Scott.

It’s lethargic afternoons such as this for which the sonic produce of North Carolina idler and self-professed apocalypse-pop practitioner Jackson Scott was incontestably first intended. For if the squalls of squalid feedback to besmear the lattermost moments of Together Forever – a sweltering invitation to forthcoming full-length début Melbourne – intimate toward an unwanted warmth, then Jackson’s sweat-infested drawl chills to the core. It’s as though the posthumous slur of apparent doppelgänger Syd Barrett exhumed and unravelled from previously unheard tapes the reels of which, clogged with mud, can no longer revolve. But things seem to be coming right around for Scott and, with the ink still to set on a deal with slacker acolytes Fat Possum, the illusive best is doubtless yet to come…

Melbourne is anticipated September 9th on Fat Possum.
