Making their Mark, Elephant.

Making their Mark, Elephant.

“I’m not sure what I hate; I don’t know what I like” soothes Elephant’s Amelia Rivas of Statuesque, at once articulating the incertitudes of a British youth “surrounded by façade” and media farce with keen accuracy, although in the build-up to she and Christian Pinchbeck’s long-awaited début full-length, Sky Swimming, the adoration they’ve commanded has most certainly already made its mark. Having previously stamped the seductive likes of Elusive Youth into this, and Shapeshifter into last year, the London duo look set to make their 2014 that bit more, well, elephantine yet with the record due April. But prior to that, and in fact this one somehow ain’t nothing but the most beauteous of B-sides, Statuesque again strengthens their grip on the mantle labelled ‘most dreamy, ethereal music heard outside of Beach House and/ or Baltimore.’ Swoon away below.

Sky Swimming is expected April 28th on Memphis Industries.
