Suuns, Make It Real.

While you would be forgiven for mistaking the opening moments of Suuns’ Make It Real for Live Forever, Liam O’Neill’s reverb-bedaubed drums reminiscent of Tony McCarroll’s era-defining intro, further comparisons with Britpop pomp are – rather predictably – fewer and further between than LG x’s sober afternoons. Instead, the Canadian quartet have crafted another decidedly befuddling listen, built upon a disconcerting inertia brought about by the undulating hum of Max Henry’s synths, as these combine with Ben Shemie’s distinctively eldritch snivel. Weird, wonderful, and whatnot.

Make It Real is lifted from their forthcoming fourth studio full-length, Felt, which is available from March 2nd via Secretly Canadian, while Suuns play the Scala on April 5th.
