The Go! Team, All the Way Live.

Listen in beyond the infelicitously festive bells which jingle away within this latest to surface from The Go! Team’s forthcoming SEMICIRCLE full-length, All the Way Live, and you’ll hear Ian Parton et al. at the very top of their game once again. Following on from the comparably buoyant Mayday, and Semicircle Song before the both of them, its base of impliable bass and archetypal brass serves as the sort of anachronistic mattress you’d impishly bounce about thereon, no matter how many times you’d been implored not to. A brattish rap – a throwback to an ’80s stateside, and long since lost to all manner of altogether more cynical nonsense – does the honours with aplomb, making SEMICIRCLE look an increasingly essential acquisition; meaning that if you’re looking for something to swap with that reissue of Rumours your emotionally distant relative gave you last month because “you like music,” you could do far worse, I’d wager, than to pick this one up on glitzy ‘neon pink’ vinyl later on in the month…

SEMICIRCLE is available from January 19th via Memphis Industries, while The Go! Team play the Electric Ballroom on February 15th.
