Another Nigh On Perfect Mess, Blood Red Shoes.

“Go on and disappear” snarls Blood Red Shoes’ Laura-Mary Carter of The Perfect Mess, the gloriously dishevelled first we’ve heard from their upcoming fourth, and finally eponymous full-length record, although if nothing else, like gum on a garish fluffy slipper, it seems the Brighton duo have some real staying power. Carter’s seething guitar lines may initially prove redolent of Judas Priest mauling Lulu’s The Man With The Golden Gun, although it’s she and the sirloin-fisted Steven Ansell who this time wind up trading vocal blows, taking turns to deliver knockout clouts in the form of thinly veiled, scathing attacks on some unwitting “fake”. Genuinely thrilling, it’s a thorough joy to have these particular cats back amongst the proverbial pigeons…

Blood Red Shoes is anticipated March 3rd via the duo’s very own Jazz Life imprint.
