Envisage a cartoon scrap – all limbs, stars, and inexplicable smoke – in which The Walkmen’s The Rat takes on Never Fight a Man with a Perm, and you’ve a vague idea as to how the opening riff to Feeling, the latest from Wicketkeeper, kicks things off. From thereon in, the trio pack in more excitement than an entire Cricket World Cup, as bass rattles and drums clatter with ramshackle abandon. There is then a kind of one-off chorus which, were it stripped of fuzz and so forth, could have quite conceivably been penned by Joe Mount at his creative peak.
