Following on from the uproarious, rip-roaring Valley Boy, You’re Dreaming – a second to come from Wolf Parade’s forthcoming Cry Cry Cry full-length – preys upon a similar urgency; the sort that could, and should, direct a track which features the panicky lyric, “I don’t wanna live in this place any more.” Yet perhaps improbably, this particular Canadian brigade sound right at home in 2017, warbling organs combining with ebullient bass lines and entangled in typical vocal interplay to create some of their most unapologetically immediate minutes since a certain 2005 long-player.
