First Transmission: Xandra, Moonlight (feat. Ezra).

Aside from the rather generic artwork that’s associated with the song (more than enough of which can be seen below), the nuanced production on the nimbly put-together Moonlight serves only to enhance, and never obfuscate what is otherwise a totally irreproachable introduction to mononymic Toronto-based artiste Xandra. Indeed, from the idiosyncratically off-kilter synth lines towards its start to the as-yet-inscrutable Ezra’s Patrick Watson-worthy vocal, this scintillating triumph feels inimitably Canadian, while at once singular; a classic single, even, lost to the ether in an era of streams, many-coloured records, and so on and so forth.
