Belfast’s finest, Bicep, were meant to be flexing Brixton not once but twice this coming weekend. Now, they’re not of course, but you could do far worse than to find as muscular a sound system as your local constabulary allows, and duly blare Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar’s typically monolectically titled latest, Atlas. It had Smolna popping off when I first heard it within the smoky confines of Warsaw’s celebrated tech-house Mecca late on last year, and with its kinetic top lines and unfathomable bass, as a much-needed “distraction amidst all this chaos”, it makes as much, if not more of a mark today.
