First Transmission: Boy Dude, Rainbow Waterfall.

Evocative of the otherwise inimitable Connan Mockasin fronting the sort of disco shimmy that Sean Nicholas Savage all too infrequently puts his most estimable of names to, Boy Dude’s Rainbow Waterfall is as colourful and fully lavish as its title might suggest, Jordan Chini immediately making quite the statement with this pseudo-psych strut. Comprising synths that would sound in no way out of place on Dee D. Jackson’s Cosmic Curves, louche bass lines, and lyrics concerning liquefying faces and human flight, the ingredients to have gone into this one are fairly manifest. (And probably not totally legal, either.) But if Chini begins with the admittance that “last night was a trip,” then Rainbow Waterfall is quite the souvenir for him to have come back with…

Rainbow Waterfall is lifted from Boy Dude’s forthcoming Cassette For You full-length, which is available from November 3rd via Hobo Camp.
