First Transmission: Myd, The Sun.

If you’ve ever considered Pedro Winter’s Ed Banger Records to be a thing of the past, particularly in the interim since the label’s notorious mid-noughties heyday, you’re a) not alone, and b) maybe in need of a quick reconsideration. Because The Sun, by recent signee Myd (né Quentin Lepoutre), is the sort of lustrous, shimmering glory that, if better suited to aestival lolling about than another gruelling autumn, probably betters anything that’s in the Parisian imprint’s back catalogue at this point in time. For with its woozy, Connan Mockasin-informed guitars both mixed into and mixing up an immediately loveable mélange reminiscent of Messieurs Goddard, Lovett, Tellier et cetera, rarely has redemption been made to sound quite so luminescent…

The Sun is lifted from Myd’s All Inclusive EP, which is available now via Ed Banger Records.
