Lily Allen, Lost My Mind.

Continuing along the confessional lines of both Three and Higher, and Trigger Bang before them, Lost My Mind – the latest to surface from Lily Allen’s forthcoming comeback full-length, No Shame – is another number that will no doubt needle her numerous social media discontents, but it needn’t. Because, above its Ladbroke Grove-ready groove, is the candid disclosure: “You wouldn’t give me closure/ Let me get off the ride/ And now I’m getting closer/ To the other side,” Allen once again coming rather cleaner than any militant Tw[ee/at]ter hidden behind an oval avatar and a Union Jack emoji is ever likely to. For those able to indulge in her present output without it being graffitied with tabloid defamation past, though, No Shame is shaping up to become quite the triumph…

No Shame is available from June 8th via Parlophone, while Lily Allen plays the Roundhouse on December 17th.
