Madeline Kenney, Cut Me Off.

“I got a good thing goin’ now,” sings Madeline Kenney as Cut Me Off – a first to come from her forthcoming sophomore full-length, Perfect Shapes – draws to its all-too-premature conclusion. And, amidst a blitz of Longstreth-esque guitars, she ain’t too far wrong: for if the below number sounds in few ways dissimilar to Wye Oak’s spine-tinglingly brilliant Shriek, then that would probably be because Jenn Wasner of said duo helped pull the aforesaid record together. We’re very much looking forward to the finished article on the basis of the below alone, but for the time being, this perky, opalescent listen certainly has our intrigue piqued.

Perfect Shapes is available from October 5th via Carpark Records.
