So compelling is last month’s Sun release, from Sydney-based four-piece Morning TV, that we could have selected more or less any number from it for review. Nevertheless, it’s previous single Let It Lie which, if supine, instantly stands out, as jangle-addled guitars from half a world away and decades wholly lost (The Pooh Sticks, The Popguns, The Rosehips, and so on) slither lissom beneath a calmative vocal evocative of Dolores O’Riordan, or Sarah McLachlan. And as said vocal coos sedatively, “It is all in your time,” it’s hard not to feel as though that of Morning TV is now.
