Having previously revealed the unprecedentedly sprightly Opposing Truths, from his forthcoming Yummycoma full-length, Sean Nicholas Savage returns to rather more familiar territory for Lifestyles. For built upon spindly drum machine foundations and reinforced with the sorts of fluttering synths that have long since been considered his stock-in-trade, it’s quintessentially lovesick stuff from the recherché Canadian, his opening gambit: “I wait around outside, cold as ice and nodding away” chattered between heavy, gelid exhalations, and delivered with the weightless languor of condensed breath. It’s its chorus – a chorus audibly doused in genuine drama, bewailed with Schadenfreude-inducing dolour – which once again sets Mr. Savage apart, however…
