Seraphina, Backbone.

It’s not solely the anatomical metaphors, nor the accompanying imagery, that’ll likely hear Seraphina’s Backbone likened to fellow Londoner Florence Welch, for all lung-busting vocals and rambunctious drums – not least during an unexpectedly left-field middle eight – it makes for a compellingly powerful listen. Atop tensile guitar lines, she’ll vocalise the kind of wild abandon which certain someones can so often enkindle (“With you, the rules don’t apply/ With you, I don’t know my own mind,” she’ll frequently confide), her incandescent delivery eventually boiling over in a vivid closing salvo.
