“Every time I mess up, I get a little more intimidated” Celeste Tauchar confides during the decidedly candid Intimidated, but on the basis of these three minutes – not to mention Changes, and Collateral Damage before the both of them – she has, as Talker, yet to put a foot wrong. This time round, a consonant acoustic track morphs into a more dissonant power-pop pelt reminiscent of Paramore around the two-minute mark, Tauchar’s vocal totally irreproachable throughout. And although she may well lament: “I’m not an artist, but I do my best,” she’s increasingly coming to represent precisely that as she continues to impress.
